Parallel Paths is (still) an ISO: grounded spiritual tribe project- except this week we’re naming the thing we’re all really craving: community that feels permissive.
We start, naturally, with a terracotta eyeshadow discourse and a water-drinking intervention (Kelsey is… surviving). Then we hit PP Gratitudes from the community (you sweet angels), and debut a new game: This or That: spiritual must-haves vs regular person indulgences- featuring impossible choices like self-help books vs reality TV, reiki vs botox, and “ascending to heaven vs reading a PP comment” (we’re not proud).
The main convo is a deeeeeep dive on why community can feel both nourishing and oddly restrictive. From the roles we get assigned, the boxes we outgrow, and the difference between belonging and self-betrayal, were talking about it all. We discuss church as the OG community container, modern loneliness, online vs in-person spaces, parasocial “parallel path” belonging, and the holy grail of it all: people who let you be messy, tired, evolving, and still loved & accepted.
Our biggest takeaway: your community doesn’t have to fully ‘get’ every facet of you to be real- it just has to love you… and give you room & permission to change & grow.
Also: call to action!! Where in your life can you give someone (including you) more space to evolve?
**Comment what youre grateful for this week and let us know what your answer to our PP this or that question is.👀
